Manchester United have reached an agreement to sell loan star Andreas Pereira to Flamengo.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano took to his Twitter to report that club sources had told him a deal had been reached between the two sides, with the Brazilian now ready to turn his loan move there into a standing agreement.
United would receive 10.5 million euros upfront, with an additional 25% sell clause also included in the deal.
Pereira never managed to really establish himself in the Red Devils first team, despite joining the club 10 years ago when he was 16.
The 26-year-old has spent much of his time on loan but has made 75 appearances for the senior side, scoring just four goals and registering five assists.
However, many of those games have come outside of his preferred attacking midfield position, with his versatility seeing him deployed as a winger, as a central midfielder and as a defensive midfielder in a three-man midfield.
The Brazilian, who has a national team cap, was on loan at Flamengo last season as they tried to defend their Brazilian Serie A title, a feat they ultimately failed to do .
His departure frees up space in the squad for United academy hopefuls such as Hannibal Mejbri or Zidane Iqbal to hopefully emerge into the senior squad over the next few seasons.
