Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid is coming off a two-game streak that saw him post some monster stats. He dropped 40 points against the Clippers on Friday, after a 50-point outburst against the Magic on Wednesday. Philadelphia is back on the road against San Antonio on Sunday, but can you count on him to continue producing at such a high level for your NBA DFS rosters? Embiid played his best basketball of the season during January and averaged 33.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and shot 56.2 percent from the field in 10 games.
The 76ers last faced the Spurs on Jan. 7, and Embiid finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Another such performance would suit everyday fantasy basketball players, but can he find a way to continue producing at the level he has in his last two starts? Before you lock in your NBA DFS picks for Sunday, be sure to check out NBA DFS tips, player rankings, stacks and top daily fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

On Saturday, McClure included Bucks sniper Khris Middleton as one of his top NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Middleton finished with 34 points, six rebounds and five assists to return 52.5 points on DraftKings and 49.7 points on FanDuel. Everyone who included him in their lineups was well on his way to a profitable day.

Top NBA DFS picks for Sunday, January 23
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Sunday is Bulls forward DeMar Derozan, who is listed at $8,900 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel. Friday against Milwaukee, DeRozan scored 35 points to go with six rebounds and three assists in a losing effort. DeRozan leads Chicago in scoring this season, just ahead of Zach LaVine, who has missed the last four games and is unlikely to return tonight when the Bulls face Orlando.
In the last few games LaVine (knee) has been out, DeRozan has averaged 28 points and 5.5 assists. In two games against Orlando this season, he scored 52 total points with eight rebounds and six assists. Without several other key players unavailable for Chicago tonight — and for the next few weeks — DeRozan should see a bump to all of his offensive numbers as the Bulls’ undisputed point guard.
Another key to McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes lining up Grizzlies guard Ja Morant ($9,600 on DraftKings and FanDuel). Since missing a Jan. 8 start against the Clippers, Morant has come back strong and has averaged 25 points, 7.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds over his last seven games. In Friday’s win over Denver, Morant nearly tied his season high with 38 points, while recording six rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Memphis takes on Dallas for the last time this season on Sunday. Morant probably would have liked to have had a better overall performance in his last meeting with the Mavericks than his 19 points and eight turnovers on Jan. 14, but he also had eight assists, five rebounds and two steals. Morant has also scored 25 or more points in each of his last three games, making him a no-brainer for your NBA DFS rosters on Sunday.
