The suspension of two IPS officers, including former Chief Superintendent of Kanpur Police (SSP) Anant Deo, who was found guilty by an SIT of having an alleged connection to murdered gangster Vikas Dubey, has been suspended. revoked Sunday by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
The suspension of former Ghaziabad Police Superintendent Pawan Kumar, which was imposed in April this year due to allegations of corruption, negligence and failure to control crime, has also been lifted.
Deo, an IPS officer from Batch 2006, was placed on administrative leave in November 2020 after the government received a 3,000-page report from the three-member SIT led by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy. The SIT reportedly found Deo guilty on multiple counts.

When a police team went to apprehend Dubey at his hamlet of Bikru in Kanpur on July 2, 2020, they were ambushed and eight police officers were killed. Dubey was later killed in a dispute.
